The Power of the Critical-Thinking

In the simplest form, critical thinking is a way of thinking that helps people break down arguments and issues to make informed decisions. The art of mind mapping is a fundamental trick we could apply to mastering solutions and making decisions for personal as well professional purposes. This article discusses the power of discerning thought, which is argued to be its constituent parts and how each correlates with life.

Critical Thinking Components

Critical thinking includes critical ingredients like:

  • Critical Thinking: The capacity to break down big piece info into smaller parts.

  • Summarizing: Summing up the major ideas, claims and evidence in a text or context

  • Evaluation=Source Credibility, Relevance (How Useful?), and Claims Strength. This includes issues relating to facts and opinions, identifying bias within an argument, recognizing logical fallacies etc.

  • Inference: The logical conclusion that is reached based on the evidence produced. This requires making associations with various pieces of data and predicting probable results.

  • Explanation: In plain simple English, telling people what we have done and why. And providing the defender of beliefs or decision.

  • Self- regulation. The ability to reflect on your own thinking process and readjust it. Part of this is learning to identify our own prejudices and discriminations.
